DNA origami is a technique that allows the construction of objects at the nanometer scale.
DNA double-helices are the basic building blocks for these objects connecting to form a rich diversity of shapes ranging from simple bricks to intricate objects. The absolute dimensions of these objects may range to hundreds of nanometers. They have precise used-defined features and are chemically registered.
It is possible to install a variety of chemical functionalities at virtually any position on the target object. The objects are encoded in DNA sequences and form, in solution, through sequence-programmed self-assembly.
