How to order NGS Barcodes
Our Eurofins NGS Barcode Labels can be ordered (free of charge) on our website.
Path: “Quick Order” -> “Next Generation Sequencing” -> “Additional Services” -> “NGS Barcodes & UPS labels”
After a few days you will receive your labels. Please stick them on your tubes based on the assignment you made on the Sample Submission Sheet. Please note that we can only accept samples arriving on our laboratory that are labelled with our Eurofins NGS Barcode Labels.
You can also find a list of your Eurofins NGS Barcode Labels at “Account” -> “NGS Barcodes & Coupons” -> “NGS Barcodes”.

How can I request a quote and order my needed service?
Please select your wished service (for example in the quick order menu on top of the page) and follow the instructions.
Depending on the selected product you might need to raise a quote first.
You can find a guide on how to request a quote here>>
During the ordering process you will be asked to upload your samples via our Sample Submission Sheet. You can find the option to download the sheet directly next to the upload button (please always download the sheet here as it can differ between the products we offer). This sheet requires you to give us more information about your samples, as well as assigning Eurofins NGS Barcode Labels to your samples.

Why am I unable to submit my order or upload the sample information Excel file?
If you encounter issues when submitting your order or uploading the sample information Excel file, please check the following common causes:
- Use the latest Excel template downloaded from our website. Older versions or locally saved templates may no longer be compatible with the ordering system.
- If you are submitting individual tubes, the worksheet containing the sample information must be named exactly "Tabelle 1".
- If you are submitting plates, the worksheet name can be chosen freely, but it must not be named "Tabelle 1".
- Verify that all sample barcode names exactly match the barcodes assigned during order creation.
- Please note that the barcode does not contain the letter "O". Wherever it may look like an "O", it is always the number "0" (zero).
- Do not add underscores, spaces, special characters, or make any other modifications to the barcode names.
- We recommend carefully comparing each barcode entered in the Excel file with the barcode provided on the website.
- If a position on a plate (for example, a well) does not contain a sample, do not enter "Empty" or any other text. The system will interpret this as a sample name and validation may fail. If no sample is present, simply leave the corresponding cell blank.
If the issue persists after these checks, please contact our Customer Support team and provide a screenshot of the error message as well as the Excel file used for the submission.
What is the difference between Standard and Premium NGS?
The Standard sequencing workflow at Eurofins Genomics is designed to provide an excellent balance between cost efficiency and turnaround time. The workflow is highly streamlined and does not include Entry QC (except for RNA samples), library preparation repeats, or guaranteed sequencing output. As a result, projects can progress quickly through the laboratory with minimal customer interaction, shorter turnaround times, and no additional setup fees.
Customers are expected to provide the recommended amount and quality of starting material. Once the project has entered the workflow, sequencing is performed and data are delivered based on the outcome of the initial library preparation and sequencing run. The Standard option is therefore particularly well suited for routine applications where speed and cost-effectiveness are the primary considerations.
The Premium workflow is designed for projects that require additional quality assurance and greater certainty regarding sequencing output. Premium includes Entry QC, additional quality control checkpoints where appropriate, and the possibility to repeat library preparation if necessary. Depending on the project type, additional sequencing may also be performed to achieve the agreed sequencing output.
Premium additionally provides dedicated project management support and allows for greater flexibility regarding sample input requirements. This makes it a suitable option for challenging samples, valuable material, or projects where data output requirements are critical. A setup fee applies to Premium projects to cover the additional quality control and project management activities.
In summary:
- Standard: Fast, cost-efficient workflow with no setup fee, ideal for routine projects where recommended input requirements can be met.
- Premium: Enhanced quality control, dedicated support, and greater assurance regarding sequencing output, ideal for critical projects or challenging sample types.
Both options deliver high-quality sequencing data, allowing customers to choose the workflow that best matches their project requirements, timeline, and budget.
